This famous line from 2009’s iPhone 3G commercial video nowadays sounds less like a feature and more like a nuisance. Granted, when that commercial was released, the digital landscape was vastly different and having a huge library of applications to choose from was a huge plus.
As the smartphone market matured, though, and every single company decided to release their own app, the once-so-called feature has been mostly replaced with the thought of “why do I have so many applications on my phone?”
Techreport explains that the average user utilizes 9 apps per day and 30 per month. Nevertheless, the average user has over 80 apps installed on their phone. The issue with this is trifold, and can be summed up under device performance, mental health and data collection.
Of course, there can be a multitude of reasons for that, but two very common sources of this issue is the RAM or the storage of the device being full. One common culprit is having too many apps installed in the device, as quite a number of them also run in the background and eat up valuable space on device storage. Don’t forget that it also increases the size of your device backups and the amount of updates for apps you download significantly.
Again, multiple reasons. One common culprit is, unsurprisingly, the amount of applications and their constant need of attention. Ever notice how many apps bombard you with notifications so that you open it and see what it is about? At some point, it gets overwhelming and there is even a term for it: app fatigue.
Well, this time around, the main culprit is the data that is being collected by some app on your phone that you probably don’t even need. If we are being honest, most of us do not read through the whole user agreement and the terms of service. At this rate, carefully reading through those walls of text might as well be a full-time job.
We got you, that’s where Wallet Studio comes in. Why have separate apps when you can have all the relevant information in the Wallet app of your phone? Especially when the wallet technology is so advanced. Namely: Wallet Studio does not secretly collect any data, prevents app fatigue, and requires very little storage space! Check with your insurance or the company who has that one loyalty app - we are either already working with them, or we will be working with them soon!
